(To be read in a big, booming ringmaster’s voice, thank you)
Drum roll please…
Ladies, Gentlemen and children of illegitimate offspring – it gives me great pleasure to introduce to you a band that will, quite frankly, rock your socks and jig your knees into a frenzied doom. Put you clappers together for the one, the only, the brilliant…
Green Rock River Band.
Okay enough of the booming voice.
Despite my rather clumsy intro, we would like to announce that the Green Rock River Band is jumping on board The Fitzroy.
Not only will they be creating an original score for the film, they will be starring as ‘The Band’ (a ragtag group of musicians holed up in one of The Fitzroy’s damp dark rooms).
They describe themselves as ‘Upbeat, doom-inspired fire and brimstone folk, bluegrass, gospel, and dirty blues all captured in an entertaining and explosive acoustic set.’
That is an understatement. Words don’t do them justice – have a listen.
I can’t tell you how excited I am to have these guys involved. They are going to bring such a unique, kick-you-in-the-face sound and energy to the film. I can’t wait.
Or to get the full Green Rock River Band experience, come to their next gig on Thursday 13th in old London town (Clerkenwell to be precise).
